Terms of Service

Last updated: May 31, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using WordToMD (wordtomd.com), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the service.

2. Description of Service

WordToMD provides a free, browser-based tool for converting Microsoft Word (.docx) documents to Markdown format. The service is provided "as is" with no guarantees of uptime, accuracy, or feature completeness.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use WordToMD to:

  • Attempt to reverse engineer, disassemble, or extract the service's source code beyond what is publicly available
  • Use automated scraping or bots to excessively load the service
  • Attempt to circumvent any technical limitations
  • Distribute malware or harmful content through any vectors related to the service

4. Intellectual Property

WordToMD is built on open-source libraries (mammoth.js, turndown) licensed under their respective open-source licenses. The WordToMD interface, design, and content are owned by WordToMD.

You retain full ownership of all documents you convert using WordToMD. We claim no rights to your content.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that conversion results will be 100% accurate.

We strongly recommend reviewing converted Markdown output before publishing or distributing it, as complex Word formatting elements may not convert perfectly.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, WordToMD and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service.

7. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. The "Last updated" date will reflect changes. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

8. Governing Law

These terms are governed by applicable law. Any disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation where possible.
